Is the ability to see "who's online" at the bottom of the forum's home screen a possibility?

Proboards normally have that function. I guess the admins are waiting to see what features are needed or wanted. Early days yet...

Yeah, I turned off that functionality on purpose, Rhiannon Brid. I didn't feel like advertising how many and which members we have, or which are online, is such a great idea. The members list and its "online now" section is available to members only, and I'm OK with that. If I may ask, what benefit do you see in showing who's online on the front page?

Some people are just noisy that way.

It does make things more convenient when it's on the front page. There's no way to make the statistics section members-only? I just assumed it was more about posts and being discouraged by them Seeing what members we do have might make old friends inclined to join... so I can see some benefit to that. The usernames aren't our real names usually and can't guests see our names we give in the introductions sub-forum? I'm not questing whether it was a good decision or not just trying to understand the thought process. I see a bit more conservatism than I have in the past.

But they can see our names in the public part of our forum.

Yes, we can keep the display of the statistics and who's online private to members. However, that won't work as an advertisement to guests. What it probably will do, is make our forum pages load slower. We can also show who's participating in any board. That should show near each board's description.

It's not about how many members we have or anything, it was nice seeing who of my friends were online at the same time as me. And hell, I might be a little noisy too, but it's also a little more convenient. Going through a heap of menu's just to see who's online seems excessive.
