In case you're in school, and someone decides to hit you? In case you're married, and your spouse decides to hit you? In case a burglar enters your house, and your family is asleep in that same house?
Well, no situation is black and white.
In which situation would you take the high road, and in which would you stay and fight?
Is your decision influenced by your faith? If so, how? If not, then how did you arrive at your decision?

In simple terms my first priority would be to protect myself and the second would be to punish the aggressor. If both could be achieved at the same time, that would be convenient. But if not the priority to protect oneself may often mean running or hiding first and dealing with the aggressor secondly; perhaps sometime later. I think this is a case where my natural instincts and spiritual path combine although the obligation to take responsibility for dealing with the aggressor is probably strengthened by my path.
