If you celebrate this event, how will you do it?
I have much for which I can be thankful:
- I'm still alive and in reasonably good health;
- The country where I live experiences relative peace;
- I get to talk to my wife and kids on a daily basis;
- My immigration into the USA is almost complete;
- I should be together with my family by my wife's upcoming birthday;
- I can still keep myself busy most times so I don't have time to feel alone;
- People at work, in my music band, and in my online social groups appreciate my presence and input.
It may be too cold to jump the bonfire. It may be too wet for a bonfire. And it isn't going to be much fun to scorch my body hair all by myself. So I might observe this event by sacrificing a bottle of port.
