I prefer slumbering, myself. Life tends to get in the way, but if I manage to get well-rested, slumbering allows me to remember my dreams, and take my dreams into desired directions (a skill known as lucid dreaming).
What methods do you use, to remember / direct your dreams?

I dislike dreaming. I did not always. I remember being very, very young and seeing one of the Nightmare on Elm Street movies where a character expressed an extreme dislike of dreaming. I thought that silly.
But it's worn me out over the years. While I do not often have a legitimate nightmare as they stop short of me waking up screaming in bloody terror, they're close. It's exhausting. And I remember them, for no rhyme or reason for a time. Always have. At best I re-direct them by learning to teach myself trigger words that help me realize it's a dream (and when I do I can make some changes). That took many years though to find words that would work.

I usually like dreaming. As opposed to my childhood I rarely have nightmares, simply interesting dreams.
It tends to vary. Usually I need to snooze in a slumber in order to remember, which usually also means diving back into my dreams. Usually with odd consequences like flipped gender identity or similar... but it still helps me remember and control to some respect.

I used to control my dreams, but at that point they became somewhat predictable. I like letting my mind have free range...let the dream take me where it will

What methods do you use, to remember / direct your dreams? I tend to think that if I am supposed to remember my dreams, I will... And I often do. As for directed or lucid dreaming I used to practice that a lot, usually when I first went to bed before falling completely asleep. As a result I can still sometimes take control of a dream when I am halfway through it.

I enjoy sleeping, I often ask for guidance and receive it in my dreams. It's like meditating to me, a direct line to the Divine.

I don't really care for dreaming. My dreams tend to be on the edge of "here's all the fucked up thoughts in your head, made real!" Not enjoyable.

Some of my dreams have been amazing as in deceased loved ones coming to visit and then I recall the joy upon awakening. But most dreams are just bits of film that wouldn't get anyone's attention and seem to be completely needless, rambly diversions.
