We have not tried it at our place, but we have helped the husbands cousin with a brewing day. (He is a fairly serious home brewer) We are hoping to start it ourselves sometime soon. Probably with a kit, we do not really have the serious setup the cuz has. Which is too bad, I like the grinding of grains and stuff.

We're hoping to try the kit thing a few times before investing in a more serious set up. The new place we're moving to will have an excellent space for home brewing.

Bottling on the 11th, we bought a capper and some bottle caps. Bottles are easy to come by we drink a lot of beer on days off.

We bottled our beer today. Bottling was probably the simplest part.

I got the bf a Mr. Beer for Christmas last year. He loved the beer and we plan to do it again.

On a similar note, I am going to get to borrow some bottles and my cousin-in-law is going to give me a bit of a tutorial on cider, and I will be making strawberry and apple cider from scratch. Juicing the fruits myself and all.

Beer is officially ready to go. We'll be drinking it tomorrow!
Lorrie: For sure we're going to make it again, even have a lead on some local hops.
Graphite: I'd love to try making cider, or wine.

My cuz makes it sound real simple, especially if it is made in the bottle. I cannot wait to try making it. And whoot! Let us know how the beer turns out, yeah?

Well the beer was a bust, we figure there was some contamination somewhere along the way. We'll try again.
What happened was the beer was all foam when we opened it. All 9 bottles were exactly the same. Couldn't pour a single glass. *pouts*

My father-in-law brews so much beer that it is taking over his kitchen. I haven't brewed any myself, although I maade mead once and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself.
