I moved around a lot as a child, got stuck as an adult for a bit but the last 5 years I've started moving around again. How many states/countries have you lived in, what are they and which one was your favorite?
(oops put this in the wrong area-I've asked for it to be moved.. Sorry)

My mother counted 40 moves before I hit 18. I've lived in Washington, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, and finally Ohio. I imagine I'll be here for quite some time, because of work and whatnot, but I definitely liked Minnesota the best.

Have lived in the same town all my life I can't even imagine that. We began moving when I was 4 so it's all I really know. I get antsy if I stay in the same place for too long. Do you like living in the same town as where you grew up?

The longest I've been in one place was 17 years and I was ready to get moving again. I used to travel to Minnesota for work. Very friendly people, beautiful country but super cold in the winter. My rental car door froze open once, that was a nightmare. What did you like most about it?

Definitely not the winters. I spent 6 or 7 years there (my record) in the middle of the state, where it's all lakes and forest and small towns. I think what I miss most is just how clearly you can see the stars out there. I'm living in a city for the first time, (you'd think I'd have made it to one earlier with all that moving around) and the light pollution has just ruined nighttime for me.

I've only lived in BC and Alberta, but I do tend to move a lot.

I was in the military for 22+ years. I've moved a few times...and traveled around even more.

It's definitely better to be away from the city for stargazing. Sounds like you need a trip to the country soon.

I think I'm finally adjusting to the fact that I don't have to drive half an hour to go grocery shopping anymore, though.

I have moved a handful of times. Mostly work-related. My wife has moved 30 times, last we counted. I managed to stay in the same house for the past 10 years. Time to leave.

I moved to 6 different houses/apartments as a kid, all in the same metro area. As an adult most of my adult life has been moving, but it is till within an hour of where I've almost always lived. My only other experience of living elsewhere was the Army where I got to live in Columbus GA, Augusta GA, and Tong Du Chon S. Korea

I'm a Navy brat. From birth.... Southwick, Massachusetts; Groton, Connecticut; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Gayles Ferry, Connecticut; Rota, Spain; Kings Bay, Georgia; Norfolk, Virginia; Mare Island, Vallejo, California; Annapolis, Maryland; Newark, Delaware; Annapolis, Maryland; Wilmington, Delaware; Annapolis, Maryland; Finksburg, Maryland and finally Taneytown, Maryland.
I consider Annapolis to be my hometown, with Norfolk as a secondary hometown. I lived there for 5 years, longer than any other place with the exception of Annapolis.

Wow, this may be tough for me... Lets see: Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Illinois , Washington, Colorado , California.
Countries I've been to, while in the military, don't even want to think about it.

Well... One town to the neighbouring when in Sweden. Then Sydney, NSW in Australia. Then Brisbane, QLD, Australia.
More houses than I care to remember though... I haven't actually stayed in one place for longer than four years since I became a teenager.
All I want is stability now, but it is hard to find a rental place that doesn't get sold with the new owners wanting to use it all of a sudden. AND we need to rent until we get financially secure enough to get a mortgage. *shudders*

Partly because of my job as a travelling English Teacher and partly because of my family connections I have been a bit of a nomad all through my life. I have lived in Britain, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland. I have also worked in France, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia and Russia. I have visited the USA and many other parts of Europe not mentioned above on holiday. And I have lost count of the number of houses I have lived in. Probably about 40 to 50.

So many nomads who have lived in some realty awesome places. I'm so jealous! One of these days I hope to live out of the country.
