So, I'm planning a birthday party for my soon-to-be-4 year old daughter. When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday, she told me that she wanted a mud pit. Does anyone have ideas for messy games or crafts I can do with the little ones?

Kiddy pool, with mud in it, makes for easy clean up of the pit itself. And, once you are done, if it's in a good place in the yard, some landscaping stones to surround it makes for a good raised planter. Especially good for plants that can take over or run rampant (lilies or ivy for example). If you have some old speakers, cornstarch can be used to make a Non-Newtonian fluid. Ad a bit of food color instead of water, and you can have some cool "3D" speakers. (This should be something you can rinse and recycle, as that stuff is messy and will ruin the speaker.) See this video for an example. Then there is this list of stuff....

Totally random, but I was poking around on topinspired.com, saw THIS and thought of you.
