July, normally a slow month (for readings/income) has been resoundingly successful. Much gratitude, universe. Much gratitude.

omm - pulled out the anatomy book and think I am going to make this my Sunday afternoon project. Anatomy for artists, lots of tea and a little bit of watching ballet over youtube. That or some Aeon Flux (animated original, naturally).
And perhaps some dancing later in the afternoon. I also have to finish my legwarmers.

I'm less inclined to use a recipe that uses "sticks of butter" or "packages of yeast" as a term of measurement. My butter and margarine come in blocks and my yeast is in a jar.

The show I'm running at the moment, not wanting to go to work tomorrow, the headache that is building and just generally being discontent and pissy.

Skulls that are in need of de-greasing. Checking the airbrush connections for the big compressor which I keep meaning to do but keep putting off. Cursing our hard water yet again.

herniated disc. I didn't go to the appointment with him so I don't know all the details, but it occurred about 2 months ago and he didn't get better with physical therapy. It took a month for the insurance to approve an MRI, and another month to approve the appointment with the ortho.
He said they need to do two surgeries- one to remove part of the disc, and a second surgery to do a spinal fusion. We contacted an attorney a few weeks ago and are waiting to see their doctors, so we'll get a second opinion. BF is really devastated at this point, he really didn't want surgery. I go with him to the next appointment, so I'll know more then. Putting together a list of questions to ask.

Wondering if the crock pot is possessed.. or just getting old and needs to go to the great landfill in the sky.... either way it would be nice if it held a constant temp for a change.

Most herniated discs don't require surgery. A spinal fusion shouldn't even be considered until 6 to 12 months, during which all other forms of treatment have been tried and have failed. Has he had any cortisone injections or worn a lumbar support? Is he having leg pain or just back pain? Any other deficits, such as incontinence, not picking his feet up properly to walk and tripping over them, not being able to maintain an erection? All of those are signs of a disc pressing on a nerve. Did the physical therapist teach him any home exercises? Is he doing them? I'll get some questions together for you to ask.

A stick of butter is a 1/4 pound I can't help you much on the yeast since we use sourdough starter and throw in "what looks good" for any given recipe that calls for yeast.

All of those are signs of a disc pressing on a nerve. Did the physical therapist teach him any home exercises? Is he doing them? I'll get some questions together for you to ask. He has not had any cortisone injections, as far as I know. This was the first appointment with the orthopedist, up until this point he was just seeing the regular worker's comp doctor who was just giving him stuff for the pain and having him come back. I felt like they were treating him like he was faking it this whole time. When he had the MRI, the tech told him he needed to see the doctor right away. He did have some injections in his back but I believe they were for pain. He has pain down his right leg, and numbness in his foot. The physical therapy occurred before they did the MRI, and were treating him for a "pulled muscle", and they were mostly just doing TENS unit and massage. The Worker's Comp insurance has been dicking us around and it sucks. It takes so long to get authorization for anything. He'll be calling his attorney today to try to see one of their doctors for a second opinion, and we meet back with this ortho next Monday to address any questions.

Trying to get information on cord blood donation. My hospital doesn't participate in any donation programs, so I can go through a cord blood bank and have them send me a kit, but I have to play phone tag with them for awhile to get that all set up.

I also have more movies to watch.
