Not a gamer, but I watch BF play some xbox games sometimes, and I get way too into them for someone who isn't playing.
The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 zombie map is freaking awesome. Ghost town, based on our very own Calico, CA.
Personally, video games give me anxiety. Even kid games make my palms sweaty within minutes. I just can't do it. I did recently try playing Lego Indiana Jones, and it's not too bad... I play Sims 3 on PC sometimes, although its not as fun as previous versions without expansion packs, and I'm not a fan of buying a game and then spending more money on it.

I love all kinds of games! Lately I've been obsessed with Bully. I've played it a thousand times, but it really cracks me up. I wish they would make a sequel!

I played EvE for two months, and then I quit when I caught myself making spreadsheets. My fiance still plays. I liked it more than most MMO's I tried, but it was too grindy for me. Then again, I was mining.
I like RPG's and sim games, mostly. I spent about a billion hours on Skyrim, and about that on the Sims franchise too. I got into "real" gaming fairly recently and so I've been told I have to go back and play all the really good older ones I missed.

I play word and puzzle games. I develop my own, too, or reconstruct games by others. Here's one of my word games on Facebook: apps.facebook.com/zjramble/

Visually, it is amazing and beautiful. It also intimidates a lot of gamers. Once you get past the tutorials, there is no story arc to follow, you are on your own. The players build and sell almost everything in the game. The players own the corporations, and build their own stations. You can even build an empire, if you can recruit other players and get them to cooperate. Other players can also take it all away from you if you mess up.

So it's like a space simulator? can you design your own ships? How much does it cost to play? So how many legions do you have? Hmm.. The game mechanics are closer to a submarine , but yes, it is a space sim. You can't design ships, but there are over one hundred different ships to chose from, and they are all customizable to some extent. It costs 10 to 20 US dollars per month to play, depending on how you pay for it. It is also possible to make enough 'in game' money for it to pay for itself. There are no "legions" in Eve. There are corporations that consist of over one thousand players. I am part of a merc corp.

An NPC corp at the moment - RUN, I think he said. There's been some issues recently (I swear, all I've heard about for weeks) so the bunch he usually flies with is kicking everyone out to try to restructure.

I still play Oblivion. It suits me when I am grumpy. I also have Bioshock 2 as well as Arkham Asylum that I enjoy playing when I get main computer time, which is very rarely. Do not have a lot of time for games.

Do not have a lot of time for games. Arkham City is even better than Arkham Asylum...I loved them both. Assuming you find time. Edited to add: Folks, stay away from D&D. That's funny. I played D&D when it was called "Chainmail". Yes, I'm old.

MMOs (GW2, WoW, etc.), RPGs (Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate, IWD), Survival horror (Amnesia, Silent Hill). Anything pretty much that's not Call of Duty or something of the retarded racing variety.

Obviously. I mean, look at all this proof! link
Though to be honest that one website has given me more laughs than any other single site in recent history. Pokemon is filed under "Witchcraft," because I guess ever since Red and Blue came out on the Game Boy Color, they've been leading children into Satan worship.

Current games are Everquest and Brick-Force. These take up a considerable amount of my time these days. Got a couple other games I'm working on but there just isn't enough time in the day. Or TVs in the house

I've been having some trouble getting into games for the last two years. I'm far removed from my glory days of spending most of my entertainment budget and spending my bulk of free time gaming. This could probably be seen as a good thing but I do miss the immerse quality and the peace of mind I once got from gaming.
I still play many old nostalgic titles such as Diablo 1, Diablo 2, Titan Quest, many of the Cube Engine Shooters, and older TES games. However these are in low frequency these days.
As for new games I'm currently playing a wide variety: Path of Exile open beta, Hawken open beta, Grim Dawn Alpha, Skyrim + DLCs. I'm looking forward for a few games in the future although the industry doesn't seem to be making titles which interest me much anymore, and frankly most new titles by big companies have been completely terrible (at least in my opinion).

I'm no fan of RPG's myself, nor of blatant fighting games. I have read good reviews on Bioshock and Bioshock 2. You play that last one often, you said, Graphite? How do they compare to other games in their genre?

How do they compare to other games in their genre? I'm not Graphite, but the first Bioshock was excellent. It's a first-person shooter, but with the subtle twist that you have abilities in addition to guns (like lightning-bolts from your fingertips, Palpatine-style). This allows for some interesting gameplay, as you can electrocute a puddle of water to take out all the enemies standing on that water. What really makes Bioshock is the story, which is fantastic. Bioshock 2 felt a bit like a retread. Some interesting additions, but overall not enough to make it feel like a whole new game. If you like the first one, you'll like the second...but it isn't as ground-breaking.

Bioshock Infinite is quite good as well. Good story that will have you thinking well after the credits are over. Game mechanics are basically the same, with the added elements of a sky hook and Elizabeth's ability to bring things through 'tears' in reality.
I love the whole series.

How do they compare to other games in their genre? Yeah, I have the first Bioshock as well. I love them. It is a first person shooter RPG and probably one of the best games ever in both groups. It is so engaging. The mission you have before you and the ethical choices always captures me. While Bioshock and Bioshock 2 are very much alike I hear Bioshock Infinite is different in the way that they improve where they were lacking. Cannot wait to have a computer that can handle playing it. I would recommend them to anyone who is not a fan of RPGs or 1PS but would like to try it out. I do not know of any other game like it nor is it easy to explain. Lots of atmosphere and imagery and lots of political commentary.

How do they compare to other games in their genre? Bioshock was a good story with a somewhat surprising twist. It's hard to fool me. I usually see the twist coming (Sixth Sense, The Village, Jade Empire, and the like all come to mind). Bioshock 2 I refused to pick up cause it looked dreadful. The latest in the series looks interesting, but I don't see myself returning to the franchise. How do you feel about survival horror games? Real survival horror. No weapons, just running or hiding if anything threatening appears. Or out maneuvering it in some fashion.
