My fandom is your fandom- I want to see your ships. This is my main one, but I'll post others if there's interest. I'll post the backstory for this ship as well. Now for a size comparison with a Galaxy class vessel. A cheap color shot.

Awesome. If I can get my scanner to cooperate I'll post some rough layouts for a Trek inspired house I did eons ago.

Neat! Is it only ships you are interested in regarding the fandom art?

Very cool. I'm a huge Star Trek fan, but I'm not one that knows all the technical stuff. My biggest foray into fandom is going to 2 Star Trek Cons and paying a ridiculous amount of money to have my picture taken with my favorite characters and to get their autographs.

Holy crap, that ship is huge for Star Trek the TV shows (the new movie as you will see in the second image has tossed it all out the window)! To compare this with real life space craft.... And then to upscale from the original.... (The two sizes fro the New Enterprise is because different official sources have given different lengths: 762m the shortest, 914m the longest)

Sadly, this is all too well an established issue. The new Enterprise isn't supposed to be be that big at all. It's supposed to be comparable to the ToS era ship. I give it an in universe measurement give or take the ToS ship as that's how it was envisioned. However that's charts are certainly accurate to film model-scaling. It's a headache is what it is. This isn't the first time we've see mistakes like this but regarding worst offenders. And to an example that it was a mistake and not originally be design consider that the bridge module is not to scale. In Star Trek DS9 we see stuff like this when they were in a hurry to populate the screen with starships. They used allot of kitbashes meaning we saw the same primary hulls used in different designed of some were blown up or down in size to fit and it's obvious. They were known as the battles of the fugly ships. When you did your own measurements they did not fit the official measurements given. The measurements presented here for the new ships aren't Canon but are backed up my measurements taken from Canon- it's a headache. Even more so there are a few arguments such as how many decks certain spaces represent. The main issues were that huge boiler-room of an engineering section and the oversized shuttle-bay. As for My ship- it is way over-sized for star fleet vessels. However I designed it prior to knowing about the issues with the reboot ship and as you can see my ship dwarfs even it. the Sovereign Class (Ent E) is only slightly longer than the Galaxy Class (Ent D) and is much smaller overall. We did not see an increase in overall size do to power consumption. Despite the Sovereign being more advanced than comparable flag vessels of the various other factions it was hardly a dreadnought or battleship by size comparison. Post TNG, several factions started to produce much larger ships. Larger ships equal more weapon hardpoints, a larger compliment of torpedoes and more energy reserves. All things that were pushed to the limit with the Sovereign class whom tries to hard to be a Sovereign Class. So I I made the length and width about twice that of the Sovereign doubling the 2D Area. A similar change in Depth should yield similar gains. this makes much more space for torps and crucial systems. However I made the width even wider so it had the same dominating profile as the Galaxy (though more streamlined) Though it is bigger it should't be any harder to hit from the front. The Nacels might have been a tad lower but everyone freaked out when they were right behind the impulse engines. -though that could have been used as an advantage. Speaking of which the saucer has impulse (and warp capabilities for it were considered but I still have to work on some internal piping first before figuring out if that's even an option.). As for arms it has twice the amount of arrays of the Sovereign plus 3. so that's 35 Type Twelve XII Arrays. It also has a hybrid of the Galaxy main launchers and the Launcher Turret the Soverign. This time It is a dual launcher with the loading space similiar to the Galaxy glass setup. It also has a Phaser Canon like the one from TNG: All Good Things. Plus a number of backup tubes to cover other arcs. It's considered a specialty wartime ship- you know because usually Starfleet has got nothing but Kirk or Picard to save them... I'm thinking of making it section 31.

Neat! Is it only ships you are interested in regarding the fandom art? It's not the only think I'm interested in but i do love my ships. It's the only thing I've currently been doing though. I don't usually do facials or anything because they take more time and I've never liked taken a break from my work... it's the biggest flaw. Picking stuff back up. However if you think he would fit in nicely somewhere: Or maybe him: or when I actually take my time...

OK, I'll post 2 of my ship designs soon. Hold on. Not star-trek. At. All.

This is the Quarter-Moon Starship. It's designed to look like just the 1st quarter of any planet pseudo-apparition, to avoid easy detection. It's got a big helm (the orange sphere) and the rest is engine / wing / quarters. I came up with this design decades ago, and have since found several others reignigted similar designs.

Solar Wind Ship, quick rendition 2013. This is me drawing a star ship fuelled by solar winds. The sails should be bigger, but I'm bad at perspectives and scale. Imagine a normal person walking into a hangar, and seeing this ship rise hundreds of feet up into the air, its sails spanning half a mile across.
