Tonight I am making Southern Fried Chicken, just like Granny used to make.
(The chicken was organic, free range and willingly gave its life that I may eat it) Or not.

I LOVE the old fashioned homemade cooking and try to make most everything homemade. I even make my own soaps, bath and cleaning products.
I DO occasionally cheat and use a bread machine for some of the kneading if I am having one of my "can't walk or stand" days though. I have now 3 breadmakers because I tend to wear them out kneading homemade dough, lol.

We don't ever buy processed food, everything is home made. Terri uses her bread maker for kneading as well since we are both broke down to do it right.

A Native invention of necessity. At one time all they received was commodity food, so they did what they could with it. Today it is still an unhealthy favorite and part of our culture. www.squidoo.com/fry-bread-recipe

I am feeling much older today ( it is the 9th here officially now) My "baby" is now 31. In just a few more months I am old enough to join the AARP. This just dawned on me a few hours ago when I realized it was my son's bday, lol. I am now all depressed and think I should just go to bed.

Interesting! Sounds yummy. Can I assume from the article saying that it is sometimes dipped in honey and powered sugar that is it somewhat similar to fried dough or funnel cakes?

I bookmarked the squidoo page. I will have to give it a try both as a dinner and a dessert. Thanks for the posting the link and idea. I always am on the lookout for new...not to complicated dinners to try!

Be sure to turn it as instructed, if you over cook it, it will be too tough to eat, the pic was borderline overdone, a light golden brown is perfect.

Frybread is the most wonderful thing on the planet... Stealing anothers frybread is a capital offense Men who make the best frybread are the most desired. Or at least that what we are told. Well, certain females.
Men weren't usually the cooks people make exceptions for frybread

Tacos on frybread are amazing... Definitely one of my favorite "fair foods", and a great dinner to make at home. I've never been into it as a dessert, though.

Turkey is my favorite food group besides pizza. Lol. Rotisseries are awesome, I would love to manage to get one some day. I am trying to think of something that can be cooked OUTSIDE today, maybe I need to take my little convection oven out in the screenhouse- a no- no, I know. But no AC here, and really do not want to turn that stove on for anything! SO many recipes, I hate decisions.

REALLY good deal! I shop those places quite often. I like the idea of recycle/ reuse instead of supporting corporate greed whenever possible.

1 diced potato. 1/4 diced onion. Chives fresh from the garden and chopped. 1 large hot banana pepper fresh from the garden and chopped. Garlic salt and cilantro.
In oil start the potatoes until partially cooked, then add the other ingredients.
Fry sausage patties in the electric skillet with the above.
Fry two eggs, also in the same skillet and plate.
Pour hollandaise sauce over the eggs.
