SCA strives to be correct to period. Dress, appearances, and so on.
Obviously a propane lantern is not period, but making a translucent shade helps.
They do not try to do fantasy or SteamPunk pirates or so on.
There are other groups for that sort of thing. (And some crossover.)

I know some larpers...I do not know any SCA people.
I know some people take both very seriously....but I once heard of a group that "re-enacted" the game of pac man in central park. Now that was just silly!

If you go to "My Profile" in the top menu then "edit profile" to the right of your CP you have the option to upload a photo or use a proboards avi. Posting pictures is in the preview editor of the full post (not quick reply) next to the hyperlink email and embed video buttons. |

It's been rainy on and off here with thunder storms but it hasn't helped. I hope the weather will break soon. It's horrible sleeping weather.
I think it must of been a great season for summer insects.....there are tons of swallowtail butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies and spiders this summer!
Nice to see the fireflies at night, so pretty!

I don't mind humidity so much, you kind of get used to it living out here. But the heat + humidity sucks. Then again, I never did much like the heat.
I miss fireflies!
