Not long into work now after reading this thread all I can think of is ice cream and hot dogs! It's not even 9am haha.
I did have nice ice cream yesterday...cookie dough and chocolate chips. Yummmm.

The heavy fighters in the SCA use rattan weapons.
The fencers (like me) use rapiers.
The youth use foam covered.
They made rocks from duct tape covered rolls of toilet paper, and the kids throw them at the fighters sometimes.
Also, if you drum, bellydancers come out of the woodwork!

Do they have Vegan Ice Cream? They must, because there's Geen Tea ice Cream... which I really want to try. Vegan ice cream does exist. My favourite is coconut based but soy ones are alright too. Mmmm, chocolate ice cream. I got a Yonannas machine for my birthday, it turns frozen fruit into "soft serve ice cream", no sugar added, unless you add chocolate or a cookie. It is YUM! |

www.sca.org/linky LARP, as I understand it, is game focused. SCA is more about fighting with re-produced weapons. ( or at least it used to be, have not done it in a long time )It has it's own kingdoms, and does not follow a gaming naritive.

In SCA, one has a persona, and acts accordingly.
I am working on mine, but I am with a household which includes an Armorer, a Bard, 3 bellydancers, and various others.

I do enjoy some CA. Not sure what to make of an SCA, though. And would such a thing work for past personas only, or would it also combine Firefly-like aspects (futuristic set off by victorian steampunk)?

I'm sure, Draco, they'd need magicians. If you get a chance, find Pop Haydn. He is an entertainment magician, who pretends to hail from the 18th century. He's been chairman of the Magic Castle, and has been awarded for his magic several times. I'm sure you can be more anachronistic than that. |
