Totally random, but the daughter of one of my coworkers is a chef at a high-end hotel & resort and had to serve a certain celebrity who happened to be staying at said hotel. She said the demands of this particular celebrity were bordering on ridiculous. Which made me wonder...if this celebrity hadn't happened upon fame, would they, as a regular person, make all the ridiculous demands they did? That's what's on my mind. I worked as a server at an upscale golf resort for a few years. There are "regular" people who pull that kind of crap all the time, and when we worked with celebrities, they were, with few exceptions, all very reasonable (and good tippers . I think fame is like any other kind of power, and it doesn't change most people too much, only magnifies whatever personality they start out with.

OMM: Wondering if the man is going to be able to feed himself anything but ramen while I'm away, dreading what the house will look like when I return.

Some of the picky ones were awesome tippers but some of them still drive me nuts.

OMM: I hate how whenever SO's buddies come over, they leave it looking like a couple of two-year-olds were visiting for the weekend, rather than two guys in their mid twenties.

She said the demands of this particular celebrity were bordering on ridiculous. Which made me wonder...if this celebrity hadn't happened upon fame, would they, as a regular person, make all the ridiculous demands they did? That's what's on my mind. Absolutely. I have people who sit in my chair all the time and proceed to present me with some of the most outrageous, ludicrous, and gutsy requests imaginable. And I am sure anyone who works in a service-oriented industry has experienced the same. It's not fame that does this to people. You do your best to accommodate their requests to exacting specifications, understand you will in fact get it completely wrong no matter how hard you try, but smile the entire time. That's what wins them over. Usually. OMM: I'm really thankful that when I type up an entire multi-page novel on how to properly clean and reset every area in a salon people actually not only read it, but follow it to the letter and then still ask "What more can I do to help?" with a smile on their face. I love my life.

I quit reading tarot for a while. Reason being, I got tired of people saying " I've spent the last _ years of my life fucking it up. Fix it." Not those exact words, but you get the idea.
Finally reached my own understanding that my job is to give them information. What they do with the info is up to them.
OMM: hopping that all of you find your own understanding of where you belong.

Went down to the courthouse to get our marriage license and make the appointment for our ceremony. We wanted to get that out of the way before his surgery tomorrow. We met with a cardiologist afterwards to clear him for surgery, which went well. They asked if we had any children, and I patted my belly and said "in about seven weeks", and the PA's jaw dropped. I barely look pregnant at all, let alone 7 months. Really funny.
So tomorrow he has his surgery, and they'll keep him overnight, so I can work on more cleaning. I have a lot to get done in just a few hours, and it's going to suck. And the next six weeks are going to be rough, since I'll have to take care of him. But then we switch, because this baby is coming by the 10th of October by the latest, and there's a good chance I'll need a c-section.

BF's surgery went well. It was originally scheduled for 1 pm, but moved to 3, so we were there for 2 extra hours. The doctor didn't like that he's had a nasty cough for 2 weeks, and that it made him lose his voice. He quit smoking 3 weeks ago when the doctor told him to, and it was par for the course. His white blood cell count was slightly elevated on the bloodwork they took last week, so what we thought were just nicotine withdrawals might have been an infection. So they ordered more bloodwork, and everything came back normally, so they went ahead with the surgery.
Doctor said he's going to have to make some lifestyle changes (lose weight, etc), but he should be okay. He may need a fusion in 10-20 years, but we'll handle that when we get to it.
He was in surgery for 3 hours, and in recovery for almost 2 hours. I had to go home for awhile after they took him into surgery because I needed to eat, and my debit card wasn't working. Apparently my check was "issued" today, but not loaded to the card yet. 2 weeks ago, I had my money on Tuesday, when it was issued. Previously, it didn't even get issued until Wednesday, so it looks like they're in the process of making changes to the system or something. Next time I will make sure to load up my purse with lots of snacks before leaving the house.
He's there overnight, and most likely he'll spend two nights. The doctor is still concerned about that cough and wants the cardiologist to come see him again. We saw the cardiologist yesterday to get him cleared for surgery, and he said "if they can't operate on you, they can't operate on anyone", implying that he was in great health. Better safe than sorry, though. I'm just glad they didn't cancel the surgery, because waiting even a week longer is cutting it way too close to when the baby is coming.
And of course, he's being such a huge baby about everything. He especially hates the catheter. Not that I blame him, but he kept freaking out about it. And he's starving and is stuck on a clear liquid diet until the doctor clears him for real food. I'm going to try to bring him his favorite fried chicken tomorrow if he's allowed to have it.

OMM: Wondering if I should clean house before I leave for vacation today. BF will still be here and says he can handle it but I don't know if I want to go anywhere knowing my house is a disaster area.

Well, keeping myself awake in a Greyhound station in Chicago until 6 AM was not part of my original plans. Four and a half hours left and I'm already starting to get sleepy. Time to break out the loud music and caffeine, I guess.

OMM: A friend is bringing me key limes today. I see home made key lime pie in my future. Yum. I have a few key limes that I don't know what to do with. My mom bought them because they were cheap and cute, but there's not enough there to bake with or anything. I think I'm going to just cut them up and use them in ice water.

There are a dozen things I should be doing besides sitting at this computer. Nope, they ain't getting done. This is Monday and I am using it to decompress from the weekend. A blessing is the quiet home.

I had to remove the jewelry from all of my piercings because of this pregnancy. Even my ears! WTF? Sleeping on my sides all the time was causing too much irritation. My cartilage piercing developed an icky hypotrophic scar, and now the piercing is closed since I removed the jewelry. I think the three pairs of lobe piercings should still be okay if I tried. My upper navel piercing is still open, but is entirely a surface piercing at this point. The exit hole is 1/4" above my belly button now, lol.
