Spent 3-4 hours without internet at work today thanks to our IT manager from head office coming out to fix things. Then when we got back online I had customers demanding to know why I hadn't responded to them.
ugh. I can see why this job eats people alive.

I need a new brain. I'm so absentminded lately, and it seems to be getting exponentially worse. Last night, I lost my dog and didn't notice for over 8 hours. As in, she went in the front yard with me for 2 minutes and I forgot about her when I went back in the house. Thankfully I found her safe and sound, but she could have been anywhere by then.
I lost my engagement ring today while baking cookies. I took it off so it would be safe. And then I threw it in the garbage.

Oh, and my little foster kitten should be cleared to come home from the vet tomorrow! And the rescue is letting her come back here. In fact, they asked me if I wanted to bring her back or if they should find another foster, if I was too upset by the whole thing. I was so worried they'd suspect abuse, but they totally understand that accidents just happen sometimes.
So I'm baking more cookies to bring to the vet's office for the staff. Snickerdoodles.

omm: Time to bring out the scissors. Shorten this hair up. Yes, I cut my own hair. Have 0 hairdressers in my area that can cut my hair without making me look like a suburban soccer mum. Sod them.

omm - I look awesome, and I am baking cookies. Win-win. I also have red wine. Even more win. And some Guest House Films flicks. Now... do I start with "Long Term Relationship" or "Make The Yuletide Gay"? Hmmm...

OKAY. I have to have to have to clean today. My Mum is coming to visit next week and my honey only has tomorrow off and then is on night shifts. Hopefully I can get a lot done today so we can have an adventure tomorrow guilt free.

Frustration, mostly. Plus side is that I at least now have bellydancing classes to distract me.

It is so much fun! I'm taking a basic tool-box class right now, but last night I also took a Polynesian class- what a blast! I've tried using DVD's, but it's really not the same as having someone physically there to show you what you're doing wrong.

Totally random, but the daughter of one of my coworkers is a chef at a high-end hotel & resort and had to serve a certain celebrity who happened to be staying at said hotel. She said the demands of this particular celebrity were bordering on ridiculous. Which made me wonder...if this celebrity hadn't happened upon fame, would they, as a regular person, make all the ridiculous demands they did?
That's what's on my mind.

My husbands a chef and the answer to your question is...YES! The demands people make can stray way into the absurd. Now here's something to think about...how often are those demands actually met.... It does make for amusing stories after the frustration is past though. OMM: guacamole...I want some.

I want a hamburger, but I want everything to come on a separate plate so I can assemble it myself in the right order because even if I tell you how to do it, YOU WILL DO IT WRONG. Or, I want spaghetti but the pasta and sauce MUST NOT TOUCH! (OMGWTF!?!) I bet your husband has lots of bizarre stories to tell. I get some really bizarre customer calls from time to time. Did I tell you about the time I had a customer call in and insist that my name was Melinda? Really. The first few minutes of our conversation was me trying to correct him and the guy keep going on about this Melinda. To be fair, there was a woman who worked inIn this office named Melinda, but that was years ago, and she was in the service department so only took Vancouver calls. (Where-as I'm in sales and take calls from all over Western Canada.) In other pointless news. My brother and his fiancee are idiots. I can't explain why, because I'm not permitted to.
